They aren't just pretty faces, I trailered cars all over the PNW with mine. 5.3L, great engine. When it was time to upgrade in 2020 I called a buddy and told him I was ready to sell it. There was $10,500 cash on my desk waiting for me when I got back from lunch an hour or so later. It is still his driver. I did add custom leather seats (not an option in the short cabs) NAV and those Tahoe wheels. Great little truck.

I still have the 2000 Silverado 1500 (5.3) that I ordered new in 1999 has just been a "truck" to me, never planned on lowering it, which was the first thing that people asked, must be why it has been so dependable, usually whenever I spent money for pretty things, something mechanical went T.U. still has the factory steel wheels even.
For the longest time I couldn't figure out why I would get the "hey, you want to sell your truck" at least once a week deal so after a number of years of this I looked into it.
Come to find out, the only place that the short standard cab pickup can be bought is...........
    Saudi Arabia, WTF GM.
I won't post a photo, would probably close the OT down.

In no particular order...most of my daily drivers have been trucks, and other than the Tacoma (which was a GREAT vehicle) I clearly have a brand bias.

Kibby at Super Chevy Parts in Portland has a red 4x4 short cab short bed. I tried to trade him a few times for my Parts Getter but no dice.

Okay I’ll play, here is my Dads ‘03 F150 Lariat that he bought brand new. When he passed I decided to keep it because of all the memories that we made in her pulling the woodie to car shows, going to swap meets, and junkyard hopping all over Gods green earth:):)

Before I got hold of it my dad reprogrammed the computer and I gave him a Dynomax cat back set up which helped with the gas mileage and torque to pull the woodie. Since then I’ve put all new suspension and front end under her with dropped spindles and leafs on the rear. Tinted the windows and added Lightning wheels and tires and just pretty much left the rest alone

  13. I have a super clean 89 Ranger that I bought with a blown up 2.3 4 banger the day after a graduated high school. I put a 302, Super T-10, built the exhaust, collected enough parts to do a 9” rear, and American Five Spokes for the front, but I dove head first into period correct hot rod/racecars and the Ranger project never finished it.

It’s so close I really should!

I don't have any recent pictures - It is a long distance "beater". 1986 Ford F150, 1952 Bell Telephone service bed and a Cummins 4bt engine (3.9 Liter 4 cylinder).

    20210611 F150 still apart.jpg
Picture from about 3 years ago - It needed new front end bushings.

About 15 years ago, it started with a Ford/Grumman bread van for the diesel engine ("Twinkie powered"). Then I found the service bed. Eventually found a $1,000 Craigslist F150 short bed pickup (Pre-dented, pealing primer job, barely running 6 cylinder engine).

Some "hot rodding" occurred. Bigger turbocharger, 5 speed overdrive manual transmission, re-geared Ford 9" rear axle, bucket seats, air conditioning, cruise control, etc. Over the years, I've driven it in 37 states. Been to Gene Winfield's in Mojave, CA a couple of times.

Lead Aint Dead - Dewey, OK.jpg
It took me to Lead Ain't Dead on 2019. That trip inspired me to start customizing my Volvo.

A few of the grand kids learned clutch control in the back acre, before they were old enough to get a learner's permit. Funny story.

An "un-named" grand daughter was putting around in low gear.

Me: You need to get more aggressive. 2 rules:
    1. Don't hit anything expensive
    2. Have fun!

Grand daughter: Expensive? Like the fence?

Me: I'm not worried about the fence, I put it up, I can fix it. Don't hit any out buildings or water faucets.
    .
    .
    .
    A little while later:

Grand daughter: I hit the fence.

Me: I told you to get more aggressive - Mission accomplished.

(it did cost us a windshield - the truck was already pre-dented on that side)

Here's my 86 Silverado. I've owned it about 18 years and it's my daily driver/shop truck. Replaced original 305 with a 350. It has 700R4, AC, PS, PB, Bluetooth stereo, and has been lowered 5/3. People try to buy it all the time. I gave "stupid money" ($8,500 for it 18 years ago. It is rock sold and has never seen a dirt road as far as I can tell.

Then the main trailer puller is a 06 Silverado with the 5.3. Been a super good truck.

I've had lots of trucks. Most of them would have been off topic here, and most of the others were skating around the edges of being HAMB friendly. All were work trucks, but I didn't take many pictures of work trucks, only the trucks I thought were cool and those have already been posted on the HAMB in other places.

Man, Mark how many vehicles do you own? I have a hard time understanding how out of all of the pictures you have posted over the years, these OT rides have not even been seen in the background!

I think you need to send one of the trikes to me... make it both...At 75 years old, if you give me a few minutes I can take a knee and beg.

  24. Reminds me of my old 69, only photo I can find but it ended up with matching blue hood, 15x8 K-5 blazer rallies and Fat 60's on all 4 corners

Bit tire, big block 58 I built in the early 90's

Still have a few trucks, being from podunk MO. I'm a truck guy

  25. My daily is a 13 Tahoe PPV all the good cop performance stuff then I added the functional cowl hood, exhaust, cold air kit, Black Bear tune, thing will chirp 3rd gear and has a great top end to it, really wants to cruise.

Spotted this ranchero at a local cruise night, an unusual treatment for this body style

  26. Here's my 84 Grand Wagoneer. This was my first complete paint job, shot in my buddy's garage. Before paint, I did some rust repair, removed the wood grain, and swapped in a Gladiator grille, headlights and horn grilles, early taillights, fuel filler, emblems, and three piece bumpers. Oh, and 15 x 8 steelies and Jeep poverty caps.

I had a 1971 with winch. I traded it off for my 75 4 speed corvette.
