Just found this and dig it! Winter has things slowed at my shop too... If you find a way to get spring here faster please share! Keep up the good work!
Hey @RyanAK How is the progress coming along on the vintage STOP light? Just curious if the package of custom paper airplanes ever got opened up? Tell Spencer I said howdy! Thanks from Dennis.
Hi @RyanAK, I was just thinking about your project the other day. Hope life is treating you well and that you'll get to turn some wrenches this spring. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help! Jalopies forever!
Dennis! Things have been pretty tough for us friend. Spencer was just talking about the WhiteWings and asked if we could do one this weekend if there’s good ‘flying weather’. We’ve had almost constant rain for weeks! Thanks for checking in and thinking of us. Jalopies forever, indeed! We’re getting back to it as soon as it stops raining in the garage. Brakes are next! (Thank you again, brother!)
An hour of no rain… which wasn’t quite enough Tim to do this without getting wet, but Leader of the Pack Nora Mae wanted to do something to the car. So… Remember the cracked Yellow head with the old blob of brass brazed on? So the idea here is that Spencer Garage deals in New & Used SPEED PARTS. We even decided to run this “slightly used” Winfield on the shop soup job.
We have a lot of un-fun stuff happening in life right now and I needed a distraction during a soul-crushing web meeting to keep the rage at bay. This is an obnoxious amount of lettering, but I chuckled while doing it. Who wouldn’t buy a cracked 4-port Riley from the guy with this parked at the racetrack ?
Glad to see you pop back up here, I have just finished reading @Six Ball's account of being stuck in an undertow on @J.Ukrop's roadster thread & wonder if that's how you are feeling, battered & bruised - nearly drowned but up for air & moving on. Hang in there, glad you are able to smile & thanks for checking in
Hey, Ryan; Given the cracked/braised Yellow-Head, Maybe you should add lettering advising - Used: some good, some not-so-good... . Glad to see you back here. Hope things even out... Marcus...
Thanks for the kind thoughts, everyone. Truly. Things were looking up. Then today around 1:00… Send lawyers, guns and money… @Six Ball - undertow??!! Guess I need to find time to get over to Joey’s thread!
I went back and read this from page one, just to find out who Spencer was. HA! What a great adventure! You’re really blessed to have such a great little family. Wish now that I still had my A pickup. All of us are pulling for you (especially after your last post). Let us know if you need help.
Thanks for the kind wishes, friends. We’re a resilient lot and we’ll weather this… but we do need an attorney. We try to be kind and giving and understanding, but those aren’t qualities everyone holds dear in this world. A speed part arrived which is a temporary pick-me-up… So now the question becomes… Run the Miller dual intake with the pair of Marvel carbs I have, or a stock A or B intake with my single size-A updraft Winfield? Just until I can acquire another A updraft. Looks like I need a few parts and a gasket set. And adapter(s)…
I wish you the beast with what ever your issue. Once the lawyers involve themselves it rarely gets better for the original parties involved and it is never cheaper.
So these Blockleys are darn nice and period correct. 600/650-17. Price isn’t bad… but I wonder what shipping from the UK would be…
