  6. Looks like the 60 ft time was your worst enemy .
    2.89 is pretty hard to recover from .
    At least you’re having fun !
    The E.T. Could be improved somewhat, with some chassis stuff,,,,,the MPH is horsepower,,,,,,looks like about 300 or so in the 1/8 th .

    I have the opposite problem!:eek:

  11. Hey, you ran your car successfully down the track, more than once, on the same day. Without breaking! Many have done worse. Those ETs have nowhere to go but down.

  12. And, so it begins. :D I remember my first and second trips to the track. Took 3 seconds off between the two trips but it wasn’t cheap... :oops:

  13. :eek::eek:
    Fixed it for ya

    I can't argue with your E.T. rationale.

  16. We gotta pull the 283, and build the big block lol

  17. Straight axle mafia is running at Clay City on June 3rd then again August 12th. I put in for the day off on the 3rd, we'll see. But I know if I can figure out what the hell is going on with this car, it should run better times. One of the guys in the group told me to put that purple secondary spring back in it. He said heavy car=heavy spring. But my timing mark on the plug looks good at 12⁰. I honestly don't know what the hell is going on. But I'll eventually get it figured out. 20230527_141424.jpg

    Cool it runs 11s! Glad you’re having fun! Thought of the perfect name for it. “Unsafe At Any Speed!”

  22. Fantastic Lloyd!! I started racing an El Camino too, mine was newer and O/T. I had a blast with it. Once you start, it’s hard to stop. Dad got me hooked on Harleys and off of the racing. I was a shitty driver, I had more fun working on the car. We could build you a 383 and you can tell everyone it’s a 283!! I wish we lived closer, I would love to help you with it!!

  23. A buff and wax should speed it up.

    Cool, Lloyd. :)

    I don't think you need a big block. Not yet.
    You're gonna be laughing maniacally and pooping your panties after getting that 283 tuned up and making some strong launches.

    Those slips tell me you are spinning your tires and wasting time. Let more air out of the tires and throw a sand bag in the bed.
