Hot Rods How about some love for the T-Bucket?

  1. Great history and a very cool ride…the profile is perfect by me. Any cooling issues with the radiator sitting that low?

Hi there ! Thanks for the compliment. It's 7 (!) rows thick. it has a pretty good fan on it. Motor is 451 CI mopar, 11.7:1 compression makes 627 H.P. on the motor. ... it runs 190-210 degrees on a REALLY HOT day . it never gets trailered.
Unless it's broken (doh! Stupid rocker arm) It's really short, was trying to copy that part from the cookie car. I learned a lot about timing, and carb tuning. that will make a HUGE difference on operating temps on the highway.

  3. That's a great car. Great build. However, according to the Hamb you should really be dead right now with no front brakes and those motorcycle tires....

Baaahhaa I know. !!SO many haters on here .. but it was built in the 70's, nobody had front brakes ! LOL That's the bad thing about the internet, (every time i post something on here, some guy that never had a hot-rod will criticize me.)
besides i have a parachute : ) this car has well over 100K miles on it. My dad taught me from the beginning, leave a bunch of room in front of you !! The thing has 64% rear percentage, so it stops great !
and the steering whell is straight up and down, so that's a death sentence too ! LOL

What engine? Looks like it might be an in-line 4 cylinder maybe motorcycle?

  9. Here's one that just came to my attention on farcebook. Recently purchased by Russell Gene Hartley and it seems he's going to make it period-right. "Here's my 23T Bucket originally build for Carcraft Magazine in 1967. I acquired her with no running gear and based on the numerous holes cut in the floor board she's apparently had many combinations of engines and transmissions since 1967. I have begun to transplant a 428 backed by an FMX into her not an easy task but doable."

Looks like a Weesner painting, except there are no "honeys" to be seen.

Good gawd, there it is, if your blood pressure doesn't increase when looking at this scooter then you're dead, mine did when first seeing it in the car rags of the day and I was still a pup.

Did a quick check and that body today would sell for about $1550 in Australian dollars. Too, since fiberglass is a petroleum based product, you can bet money that the price of bucket bodies will be going up.

They can add power in the high rpm range, although my guess would be that the owner thinks it looks good.

Or he has a real bad fuel percolation problem........:D
