It certainly is old enough. It definitely isn’t stock, but tastefully modified. To me, it is definitely a slick ride! 1665B3FB-CD18-4ADA-8501-E638341DA097.png

I dunno, cant some things just be left alone? I'd be the poor bastard trying to put it back to stock if I owned it. Some cars make good hotrods, some others, not so much.

A 1965 Mustang and VW's are also the same era but not allowed here and for good reason.

Not my cup of tea but it’s not horrible either. Those early Jeepsters were the last Phaetons built by an American manufacturer and were all 2WD, fours and sixes were available. I think this one is a ‘50, it was mildly de-chromed, lowered and the hood is louvered. Probably has a V8 under the hood, but I wouldn’t call it a hot rod or a custom, just a mildly modified street machine.

I call it a Hot rod. Only thing I would change is the wheels, I am not a steel wheel guy, Dark gray spoked Americans. Otherwise, I would cruise the heck out of it! And I am not really a jeep guy either, but cool is cool. lol Larry

IMO, Yes. Definitely Unique and Kool. The debate on the definition of "Hot Rod" , "Traditional" and "Kustom" has been cussed and discussed here to death, HAMB has their rules. Your cars, T-Bucket and 32 are the definition of Traditional Hot Rods but the diversity of our great hobby is what I love about the whole deal, I've always marched in my own band, the leader of my pack of one or a lone wolf, not the "Norm" the wife thinks I'm weird, I prefer unique. LOL

Apologies to the builder, but no. I don't think John Milner would,ve looked cool in that in American Graffiti

  8. Cool in it's own right. Custom is probably the best description. I can see it as a support vehicle at the drags or on the salt.

Those vintage Jeepsters, are great to cruise around in, in the summer time with the top down.
The particular one shown here, to me I like it just the way it is.
But then I have always appreciated oddball vehicles, that don't look like everybody else's!

  10. I've always liked these early Jeepsters.
I'd describe it as cool, not traditional or a custom.

Love the old jeepsters, jeeps and broncos and Willy’s.
But ever single one of them need big meats under them and definitely not slammed to the ground. It’s like putting round track tires on a dragster.

  12. Not a fan of the top choice... But it has a good look.

    Always likes the Jeepster

I'd call it a mild custom. Put a modified motor or a V8 in it and it would be a hot rod to me. Traditional though? Never.

Owner is enjoying it at it's on the street being driven.
Is it any better or worse than some of the 'forever' projects that may or may not ever be done?
Then again I have seen posts of Customs being built that don't hit the good looking mark. Are they still acceptable because the fit the more traditional rules?

  18. UH...NO! If it was Traditional, it would still be a Jeep. Not a Streetrodded mess. lol

If it had a LS in it I'd tell him get the fk out! But yeah, back in 64-5 my uncle had an old CJ with a 327 in it so don't say it didn't happen. And that was here in the Motorstate not some SoCal or southwest offroad area.

My first drivable vehicle was the next generation Jeepster convertible. Had a lot of fun with it. That Jeepster looks good as is, make a great summer cruiser.
