Wow. Following along on this one for sure. You had me at ‘antenna roof scoop’.

Man I've been staring at his hood and trunk pics so I don't come off like a jerk. Not sure where you're seeing 2 bumps on the deck lid. It's clearly got 1 peak in the middle that lines up very nicely with hood scoop/antenna. Seems like this dude definitely had his "motif" well thought out before he began.

He's suggesting to cut the existing roof off and install a trimmed 57 Chev car Hood with the gunsights facing back and reskinning the trunk lid with two raised details inline with the each gunsight flowing down towards each taillight...negating the center detail...OR something along these lines...

In other words he is not feeling the vibe being put forth...highlighting how pleasing the masses whether it be Custom or Hotrod is Traditionally incredibly difficult and nothing has changed...

I'm enjoying the journey and applaud the Canvas coming together shared by Noah...I'm confident he will listen to all the opinions making adjustments as he sees fit...for example the headlights...just a part of the journey...

Ah yes, OK I get it. Yea I mean that would look cool too, but geez what a ton of work to fit someone else's vision. Some canted '61 Chrysler or Corvair headlights would look sweet, but it's not OUR build. I think all the build decisions thus far fit perfect together. I'm with you, great to follow along with the journey. @Noah* you're f'n killin' it!

WOW! I’m lovin your imaginative take on this custom!

I also modified an Imperial square wheel for my off topic avatar car. It had cracks in exactly the same places yours did. The first restoration had the cracks reappear after a year or so. I redid it again this year but added Chevy Impala wheel chrome trim spacers between the thick upper rim and the thinner lower part. So far, so good.

There's plenty going on around here to keep my attention...I just chime in...no pressure...especially with motivation not being my best virtue I just say hello...I for one understand project creep and that's not always the reason...

You fella's that pump it out thank you and the less timely ones thank you too...;)

I got the body dustless blasted and have been doing some patches and body work. Steadily making progress. Mocked up my telephone and tv in the dash, actually bought a 1962 Sony tv that works and hooked my Roku stick to it. I don't have it in the picture, but the receiver hangs on the left of the tv. 20220624_123521.jpg 20220717_114903.jpg 20220717_115514.jpg 20220724_090540.jpg 20220724_090636.jpg 20220911_113635.jpg 20220911_133601.jpg

I cut up the original trim from the 51 Buick dash and added the speaker grill below the tv. I made aluminum piece on the outside to trim it out

Wow, look how's shiny and purdy.
    That's a beautiful color for a custom.

First time I've seen your thread. As I was scrolling through, I realized I had a big smile on my face.
    Scrolled more. Smile got bigger.
    Thanks. :D

That is wild, I love it. Quite a few show rods had a TV installed in them in the early 60's but this is the first time I've seen one retrofitted into a new, period build. I think it's great. Love the color on the grille shell, too.

Looking Fantastic Noah!!, you're building a Early Body version of the Golden Sahara...I have a vision of it in a grand room in 1962 not far from the Sahara wowing the crowd...what would your Cosmic Gal be wearing accompanying the display, a pearl white jumpsuit with flaked candy apple rose accents?

Be nice to snag a set of those wild glowing Goodyear's with the turbine rims...

Got a few things done. Made my column drop. Frenched my fuel filler, battery cut off and 58 TBird switches that will control my doors and deck lid. Added some lighting to my tail panel and polished my headlights & stands.

I thought I was going to be clever using a modern floating touch screen in a center console, but I never thought of hooking up something like the Roku. to an old B/W tv I guess as long as you have wifi
