This was our fifth year and the Kustom attendance was down a little but the kool factor was still very high. This was an extra special day because we also had a memorial ceremony for Ron Myers. Very emotional day but we were still able to celebrate the American Kustom. Here is a kool video from Travis Royboy Productions. Stay tune, I’ll post more pics later
Mick, I'm sorry attendance was down. It's been an unusual year in many ways. I know that you put a great effort into your shows. What was there was very good.
It was a wonderful day . Thank You Mick and Everyone for their time and hard work to put the Lead ain’t Dead on .
Thanks Mick, for the video. Work/No work just didn't work out for us this year. Quality event you've come up with there in Dewey. See ya next year!!
1st time attending for me. About a 400 mile road trip in the Merc on Saturday, and definitely worth it. What a great little show. Thanks Mick and Crew.
Thanks guys for the kind words. We still had a blast and the number of Kustoms we had is still more than you would see at most shows you would go to. Our Kustom Konference was one of the best we've had. I enjoy sitting around talking about kustom nerdy topics. This year's topics: 1) My top five favorite kustoms 2) How important Pat Ganahl's role to start the Kustom movement. 3) Eighties Kustoms, where did they go. 4) Defining todays Kustoms. Topics created a lot of squirrel chasing... Lol! The highlight of the weekend, I talked to three Kustom guys that I have known for years but actually got the chance to sit down and visit with them. Best of all I met a new Kustom guy. We are going to do it for awhile. As long As Jim, Dave, Sancho and I don't get tired of talking to each other. Lol! Happy Blessed Trails, Mick
Well, I for one enjoyed most of it! Sorry that I couldn't hang for the Kustom Konference, I look forward to next year. Are you going up to Lamar, Mo. for the Old Geezers show? That's my plan as of now...
I'm not sure I have another event in Wichita the same weekend. I'm trying to decide how to make both of them. I'll let you know... Glad you are feeling better...
I was shocked when I saw you drive up. I thought someone stole your car. Lol! Sorry we didn't get the chance to visit. Hopefully you got back home okay..
I didn’t know about the show, but that’s totally my fault. Just not paying attention. When is this show in Lamar, Mo? That’s my birthplace, raised there.
It was kool to see you and thank you for your help with the service. We needed your expertise..... I don't see ya enough but its always fun when we get together.
Thank you very much. We would prefer the show to stay small. It is a lot easier and we have time to visit with people. Its no secret the Kats like to eat and talk...
Thanks Russ for your support and I hope you can figure out your car issues. Cars can really suck, sometime....
Another great weekend sitting around, talking about kustoms, eating and celebrating the life of a friend. Thanks for having us Mick!!
Now, there are 3 show I won`t miss. The Leadsled spectacular in Salina. The Custom Car Revival in Indy. And now the Lead Ain`t Dead show in Dewey. People who are into customs are some of the coolest people you will ever meet.
Kim is dying to get back in her 55. We are gonna push forward on it, but we will probably just spectate next year. I fulfilled my duty in hauling the Grand Marshal in the Western Days parade, so I won’t feel guilty next year! We will be there.
Well, I came over to the boards tonight to post the video and Mickey beat me to it! I'm hoping to have my car running again next year and have one more 60's era custom at the show For anyone wanting to see my photo coverage I can post some here or you can go to my site: https://royboyproductions.com/2022/09/19/2022-lead-aint-dead-coverage-photos-and-video/
Sorry Travis, I know you have been very busy and the video was too kool not to share it. I appreciate you covering our events. That would be kool. Long trip but if you are into kustoms I believe you would enjoy the show.
