Not quite an airplane but a car designed by an airplane designer. Top photo is my Messerschmitt KR201, bottom photo is my Messerschmitt KR200.

I usually don’t like aluminium stuff, but that is extremely well done and I love it. And the centre console.

    HRP,
I screwed up and forgot about what you wanted in this thread. I deleted the pictures that didn't meet the criteria. I claim old age or stupidity, whichever works. My apologies.

The 'hot rod' dash for my '32 roadster. Also have a stockity stock one I may use. Not sure which direction I'm going yet because I backburnered the project until I get my '29 roadster on the road. Might start simple and get it going then switch it later.

I'm thinking about keeping the ignition switch in the column drop and the headlight switch in the steering wheel.

My Model A was about ready for the street, cept'n the dash. The running gear is all '64 Fairlane, so I figured a similar era set of gauges would be easy to hook up.... But what about the rest.... I chose the cluster out of a '66 Mustang GT. It had all I wanted, and you can buy them new. That was the easy part. Now to make it look old. First, I got rid of the orange glow indicators, and used only the clear lens and the cluster bucket. Ken, over at HRW (can't say enough about these guys!!) whittled out a bezel and put the correct radius' on the openings. This was no walk in the park, as there is no symmetry to the gauge spacing. They are all just a teensy bit different. When it was ready, I had the bezel nickel plated, to give it an old original look.
The dash had been butchered beyond repair, so rather than try to patch all the nastiness, I covered it. This is where it gets interesting. At the same time Nick from HRW was working on my "A" we were putting the finishing touches on his Henry J gasser. Henry J was classified as a utilitarian car, to be used by the working man. So, they tested 200 different patterns of Naugahyde to see while wore the least. Turns out it was the alligator, so in 1951 you could get 3 colors of alligator and paid seats. Nick's was green. Get the picture, and it was free !!!
