https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=803574620640268 So, I'm double posting, but I'm so geeked about firing the Hemi in the Model A today that I'm gonna break my arm patting myself on the back, and wanted to share my good news with those not following my roadster build. Tomorrow I'll get some gas in the tank and we'll let it run a minute or so, I'm super excited!
Well done! That is a thrill, I just experienced it with the $200 283 for my 40. The Desoto in my pickup is on hold temporarily, and I’m looking forward to that day!
I had fired this engine before, just once, for about this long, before I pulled it out of the '52 DeSoto wagon we bought to replace the wrecked '51 Pontiac. The guy we bought it from hadn't done much with it, his statement was, "I couldn't get it to start". One set of points wasn't opening. I spent about 20 minutes messing around with it as soon as I got it off the trailer, it fired on whatever old gas was in the lines. Going through the stuff with the car I found receipts for machine work and parts totaling thousands, so I had confidence it was a good engine. It should be fun!
At first I thought this thread as about the Tacos I ate last night. BUT...I like your story BETTER. Congrats on a successful start up
