    It's a stock GMC/Detroit Diesel piece.
Not necessarily 'vintage' either. It's for
a 53-series Detroit and by the looks of it,
I'd guess, probably for a inline 4-53 or
    possibly, maybe, a V-type 6V53. They're
nice little blowers, but compared to the
    bigger '71 series' blowers, they're a lot
harder to adapt to use as a supercharger
    because there aren't any *commercially
    available* intake manifolds or belt-drive
    set-ups for them.

Thanks. It is the 4-53. I've been searching for "arrow" due to the logo in the casting but came up empty handed

With only 2 hold down bolt holes??? Yikes!

  5. 4-53, you will find several threads if you search. I had one and sold it to another HAMBer last year.

  6. 2 bolts fron and 2 rear, they go through the endplates.

  7. You will also have to rig up an oiling system for the bearings on these. Not sealed like the bigger Detroits.

My 6v53 has a longer case and some other difference from that 4-53 blower. I do have on it a new aftermarket parts from Joe-Blow's Speedshop in Australia. I still have a bit to go on the completion of the rebuild.

  10. Sorry but you are incorrect. Ohio George ran a pruned 6-71 made of magnesium. Basically a standard GMC with the mounting flange milled off and bolted down from the inside of the case. He went in with Sneaky Pete Robinson and cast 200-300 cases. They also made magnesium bearing plates.
