I bought this headlight bar recently with a bunch of other parts(mostly Model A). However, the other Model A bars I remember seeing were all just a solid rod. The one is U-shaped metal in the center with slots to mount the license plate. I have had a couple old GM headlight bars with a similar center portion, but the ends were not even similar to this one. Any ideas?
Hang on... I'll call it in. Unit three to @VANDENPLAS ! Unit three to @VANDENPLAS ! We have reports of an unidentified part. Possibly Mopar in nature. Please advise. Do you copy?!? But seriously... When in doubt, it's ALWAYS a Dodge.
could be, I've seen them hollow, but never with slots for the license plate. Aftermarket from the day ?
I wondered about this ^. I looked at a bunch online and none of them were like the one I've got. I suppose vintage aftermarket would make it quite a lot less common.
Just thought I'd give an update. Apparently these were used by Ford briefly(less than a year) during model A production.
