I took this picture at an old wrecking yard today, sorry for the bad photo, The steering wheel was in a 1948 ? ford pickup. A early wheel with what looks like banjo wheel style clip on pieces, any help with model, make, or history, Thanks for any help

Well that’s a interesting wheel . Since the steering wheel has its main three spokes ( black part) I wonder if that was a aftermarket JC Whitney type add on . Like “WOW . Make your ordinary wheel into a banjo style wheel. “

  4. Thats EXACTLY what Ive been thinking of trying to make for original wheel on my 36 Chevy P-UP. I knew they exsisted but have never seen one "in the wild". I would grab that if I were you....IN FACT if you decide to sell it, shoot me a PM please. Mitch.

Yes. Because the rest of the wheel looks like a stock 48 f1

I've seen those add-on banjo pieces before. Those are cool, that's worth getting for sure. So is the whole column and steering box, pedal setup with crossmember, brake hubs/drums and backing plates all around and front shock mounts, all of that stuff is good hot rod building stuff. Good resale stuff if you can't use it yourself.

So we all snicker when we see a rice rocket with a coffee can exhaust tip and multi blade wipers, but this cheesy piece of bling is "cool" just because it's old?

This one is. Can't say that about every old accessory, but here it's cool.

Something about that wheel seems to say 'made in England'. Immediately pre and post WW2.
