Anyone going to the Antique Drags, car show this weekend (05-22) at Irwindale Raceway ?
Up to 1959 for the racing, and up to 1974 for the car show.
I'll be wandering around, watching the racing.

I really wanted to go to this event this year, but plans have changed and I'm not going to be able to make it. Have a great time, wish I could join you.

But I do plan on getting out to the Aces CC event at Old World in Huntington Beach on Saturday, that should be good.

I won’t be able to get down to LA this weekend but I am going to try to get to Eagle Field to get my noisy old car fix.

I'm going to go as a spectator as I think 80 bucks to run my banger for some 30 second passes is too much money

  9. Looks like you might get the best value for your $80. You'd be on the track far longer than most. :p Couldn't help myself.

    Agreed !
Where else can you have as much fun for $80 these days ! Hell, I went to the grocery store the other day, spent about 1/3 more than a coupla weeks back...for basically...the same stuff !
Give me a few seconds of full throttle, letting the clutch out and shifting anytime.

I'm going to take the hot rod instead with Pontiac power 20210116_111745.jpg and probably enter the show part we'll see if I feel like racing

Actually, compared to past shows, I thought the car count was a little light, and the spectator count was really light.

But...that meant the racers could run "laps" on the drag strip, which many did, make a pass, get right back in line, and then...do it again.

Hmm, that's a picture in the show area, right ? I walked the whole lot twice and didn't see him, his car or his wifes car. But then I got there about 9:45 and left around noon.

I've got some photos, but they are all too large to post. I'll try to cut some down to post.

    Overall, a nice showing.
