    With no disrespect intended for these gentlemen, some of which were down on their luck being residents of Chicago’s Clark St. in the 1960’s I found this photo interesting.
    Chicago photographer Tom Palazzolo documented the gritty life in the area and I took the above screen shot on my TV today. The surprise was that Byron Drag Strip would have advertised in that area.

    I agree. I lived in Glendale Heights in the 70’s. Can’t imagine the advertisement on Clark Street either

    Hard to imagine now, maybe. Both 616 North and 616 South Clark are very pricey neighborhoods these days, but that was even the case in the 80s when I moved there.

    Looks like the front doors of our local Walmart today...the styles...attitudes...just sayin'.

    I got Art Arfons autograph at a car show when I was a kid. He was showing a jet powered military vehicle of some kind.
