Hello Thanks form this helpfull forum ! So interesting I just buy in south of Spain 4 month ago , a completly rusty Ford 1939 deluxe convertible (I think ) It’s my first US car and 70% of the parts are missing… It’s my second flathead but I never open the first one ( a new french flat from military stock ready to use on my bellytank) I Want to build a Kind of beach racer (rat’s) with most originale parts I will need some help… l don’t know anything on Ford I just like hotrods The finish-Line is on septembre 2023 at the french NBR ( normandy beach race )
'39 Convertible, supercharged Flathead, plans to race on Normandy beach, there is nothing about this that I don't love! I am subscribed and I look forward to hearing more about this build. Not sure what questions you may have or if I'd be able to answer them but post them here, along with updates on the build. When it comes to racing flathead powered cars, it seems like 1934 and older is the standard, but I'd love to see more big cars like this get involved, especially open cars.
Welcome to the HAMB and hell of a first post! Cool car too! Cannot go wrong on a supercharged flathead!
Thanks a lot mans ! as I know my flat head is a « 59 » with 24 stubs, All parts seams to be at the good place! Oil pump is missing I don’t know if it’s the same as marmon’s french flathead (easy to find for me ) I have the chance to find an intake / a eaton supercharger / 3 holley 94 carbs ! A lot of works on the intake (hand made) I was Thinking on buying a isky racing cam max1 if I find a cheap one and Also 2 Nice heads (used) And try make it run like that first !
Salut Tibo french oil pump should fit. i have converted a 5000km french flatty, its in my avatar, runs great. Maybe you recognize the Nut on the center stud? bonne chance et peut-être on se verra au NBR A+
