One of the very few benefits of living in a northern climate is the excitement of starting up your cars after a long, cold winter. Almost seventy degrees so the Polynesian and ‘35 Phaeton were brought back to life. Now I just need a good rain to wash the salt off the roads…
Oh yeah, remember it well living in the northeast, I would wash my daily driver regularly and use that as a guage to make sure all of the salt was off of the roads after a few good downpours.
I have to smile. I know people in some parts of the world suffer the winter/snow/salt/pack the cars away thing, which is very strange to me. I look forward to the cooler months (which are coming) so I can enjoy driving topless without getting fried! Winter where I live is the drier milder (not humid) time of year.
As a northeaster I’m getting ready for the ritual rite now. And it looks like I’m gonna need some batteries.
Same here at the Hot Rod Grille in WV. We're supposed to get a lot of rain this weekend, so hopefully the roads will be salt-free by next week!
I moved my '57 about 100 feet from one building to another on Wednesday for the first time this year, unusual to have 60 degree weather in Wisconsin in March. Even that felt good. Now it's snowing. That looks like a hell of a nice collection. Nice garage, too.
The beauty of living in the South is hot rod season is practically year round, we have limited snow and ice but you can drive you hot rods & customs most anytime. BTW, you certainly have two beautiful cars. HRP
I'm in Mt. It was so pretty yesterday that I was going to drive the 62 to work for the first time today. Woke up to rain.... Soon.
One of the spring rituals at my place involves running all the cars out and mopping the garage floor and knocking down cobwebs and all around tidying up.....
More garage related. I have a furnace squirrel cage fan wired up to run solo. Lower the overhead door with the squirrel cage peaking out, blow the whole shop out with a leaf blower. The squirrel cage fan helps pull the dust out. Keep the leaf blower going until most of the funk is out of the shop.
Now that’s yard art !! you got two garages ? man I’d love to just sit outside you place n watch all these treasures emerge !
Some of you are late. Had the roadster out 2 weeks ago and again Wed. The blue in the background is Lake Michigan the white beyond the rocks is ice
yup, one to make messes in and one "clean" one here are a couple of "tour videos" I did when people here were posting shop videos during the covid lockdown
This is the time of year I go hunting. No leaves on the trees and the grasses are all packed down. Can see into the groves and hidden areas on farms to find treasures. Season starts tomorrow.
Yeah, other than rain, we can drive ours mostly year round. I got mine out today after it resting since fall. Not because of the weather, but because I had it up on stands doing some underneath work. Since I don't work on it in temps less than 60*, it had to sit. Authur won't let my hands work right in cold weather. Will probably get it out again tomorrow and get some fresh now HAMB friendly pics of it...
need to go wake up 36 3W Coupe.. clean the dust off... little spit shine... weather is coming around here in the PNW..time to cruise
