Hot Rods Budget 33 34 3 window conversion drag car

I like drag racing and had fun racing my flathead powered 5 window 34. But I wanted to build a faster car so I sold the 5 window. Now I'm building a cobbled together 3 window from a 2 door sedan f . This isnt a build thread really. I usually post to Instagram but I know alot of guys from here aren't on there and this is where I cut my teeth so I wanted to share here. I'm just gonna dump pictures here I hope you enjoy.

I love it! Was that driver's side door original to that body? What the hell happened to the roof? This does seem to be the perfect body to do something like this to. Is this one going to be OHV powered?

 

What motor will it have? How fast is faster? I love it! Here is my cobbling of a 3w made from a couple of sedans and a 1957 Buick.i too, am wanting a budget race car.

Its the original drivers door. It was really crushed when I got it and the guts were half air chiseled out. Ive got alot of work into it and its still real rough. The roof was very rotted haha and had a piece of rusty 16 guage welded solid all around to fill it. I removed that to expose the factory opening and patched the roof from a section I bought out of a field that had been run over by a tractor. It'll be flathead powered

Jim your coupe is awesome I followed you welding that together. Hopefully mine will be a decent amount faster. My old car weighed just under 2300 lbs and had a mild flathead. Im hoping to beat that weight and the new engine is a big stroker flathead with a 471 blower so should be an improvement. Getting a 33 34 coupe to around 2000 lbs is difficult while still trying to maintain some decent looks.

The 5 window went to France. The buyer will be racing it over there on beach so she'll still be doing what she was meant to do.

For the life of me, I couldn't understand WHY you would sell the 5 window, or what you could replace it that would be as cool...now we know.
