This morning I raided a buddies scrap pile and found a piece of aluminum I think will work. After doing some careful wild ass guessing, I think a 1 inch foot with a 5 and a half inch stand off should be enough to make everything live happy.

That WAG was based off the size of the scrap I had to work with so into the bender it went. It had some odd holes drilled in it but I can't complain too loud about free stuff.

My first attempt at using a metal brake but I'm not too ashamed of how it came out. Few holes in the drill press for mounting and it was back home to see if all my YouTube and fabrication hot rod show education paid off.

Seems to fit okay so far... need to punch some holes through the firewall now to finish the mounting but so far so good.

Paint it black and put it back, it's time to hit the track. I may revisit the design one day but for now it seems to work. Stay tuned.

Looking great! I’ve been slowly trying to keep up with my own build! Got the front clip off of mine and the new chassis I built for it is at the exhaust shop. Still lots to do but getting closer every day! Thanks for the updates!

Nice! I try to get something done at least once a week but it seems like it's more of a struggle these days. Can't wait to get it out of the garage under its own power...

EV34 I hope you didn't use Muffler Molly to build your chassis

Not sure what your referring to? I don’t know what muffler Molly is?

I just read this thread. Very interesting.
In post #85, i see the 1946 front spring removed sleeve and bolt that hold the front spring.
