Tomorrow is move in day for our yearly winter indoor car show. Of course it’s snowing and the car is at my place on top of a treacherous hill. Lots of cleaning and careful driving to do tomorrow. I’m sure Brooks will post pictures of the adventures.

And here it is! The Rambler's first car show. Got her on the trailer and then in a spot and set up- 20220217_084803.jpg 20220217_090907.jpg 20220217_090918.jpg 20220217_090927.jpg 20220217_112154.jpg 20220217_125438.jpg 20220217_125446.jpg 20220217_125510.jpg 20220217_134508.jpg I'm excited to enjoy the carshow for the next few days. If one of you HAMBers sees me there, come say hi. Despite being a quiet socially awkward kid, I do like to meet new people.

There were to more AMCs at the cat show this year, a '59 Rambler wagon; 20220217_181334.jpg 20220217_181348.jpg 20220217_181352.jpg 20220217_144457.jpg 20220217_144401.jpg very cool rambler, also has a sbc motor.

The other was a '69 AMC AMX. Not HAMB friendly, I know, but I have to show a few pics; 20220217_133235.jpg 20220217_133026.jpg 20220217_133715.jpg Screenshot_20220217-133530_Video Player.jpg too cool! Didn't want to start though, shot some flames. I'd love me one of these if only they weren't so expensive.

More pics and updates to come. Really happy with how things are going. People seem to be liking my Rambler and it's engine bay.

  3. Looks like someone didn't follow the flamethrower instructions too closely! THEY GO ON THE OTHER END!!!

  4. really cool you got to go to your first show with the sedan, cool build all the way thru.
really like that Rambler wagon as well!

A tiny bit of carshow interior work. Installed a better condition passenger side visor. The better visor did have a patch on it like someone must've ripped off a sticker or something, so I covered it up with a pinup card 20220218_171033.jpg 20220218_171043.jpg

  8. If you find a workable latch that has a locking button or knob, don't write it off too quickly. Odds are that you, or a locksmith, might be able to disassemble it and remove the tumblers. No worries about keeping track of a key for one oddball lock. And you might still be able to "lock" and "unlock" it with any key in your pocket, or a straight bladed screwdriver.

Oh . . . And don't worry about that AMX. Any car rolling on a set of Motor Wheel Spyders gets a pass in my book.

Well the carshow is now over. I had a fun time. I even won 1st place in my class (original/unrestored. My car is far from original at this point but whatever, that's the class I was put in) they never did give me my 1st place plaque. Everyone else got theirs. Oh well.
it was cool talking to people about what we did to get to this point and it felt nice how many people complimented me and the car. Even had one guy notice the HAMB sticker and said he goes on the HAMB from time to time. Here's some pictures; Resized_20220219_184704.jpeg Resized_20220219_172845(1).jpeg 20220219_192051.jpg 20220219_090509.jpg 20220219_192927.jpg 20220219_192917.jpg

Brooks is a socially awkward young man, I really liked seeing guys coming up to him and asking questions and complimenting him on the car. Its so nice seeing him smile. Great job Brooks I love you!

  13. Hanging around with other car guys at shows and cruise-ins are probably just what he needs to slowly gain social confidence. Good on you Dad, for providing him the venue to come out of his shell. And the attention he'll be getting over his cool build will help, too.

  14. Congrats Brooks and Dad!

Thank you all for the congratulations. Really means alot from y'all. Can't wait till the next car show , I'll be able to drive the Rambler to it instead of trailering it.

Always thought that the AMC cars with a SBC would be a great combo! You have proved it! Keep going, this thing is killer!

Help! I guess I was a dumbass and accidentally threw out the installation instructions with some other stuff. Mooneyes half sweep tach.tachometer. 4 wires. For sbc350 20220301_161327.jpg 20220301_161350.jpg

    Thanks for tach feedback.
    Tonight we bled the brakes
Next Monday is the big day. First start and "drive" (up down driveway).
That is if everything works out.

I pulled my 442 on a trailer backward once...once! I highly recommend keeping the engine weight upfront on the trailer. I about shit myself, talk about tail wagging the dog! Your car is looking great! It would look cool painted in the red/white and blue Donahue livery

UPDATE: It started! Still needs much tuning and small things but for now I'm incredibly happy with this big step forward!
