I have not read the entire post so I do not know if you solved the u-bolt interference issue with the pan but on some cross members (usually model A’s) they do not use u bolts but weld a stud to the front cross member thus eliminating the tops of the u bolts above the CX member, I tried to make a sketch but I could not down load it here

Trying to remember exactly what I did. I switched back to the stock cross member because I couldn't get the lowered one to clear the oil pan and I think I used some old Ford u bolts I had laying around.

I had a 1932 3 window coupe with a 302 & C4 that i had the exhaust going FORWARD on the drivers side and used a 180 bend to clear the oil filter (ford adapter to rotate shorty filter) Pass side no issues of course I used 65-66 mustang cast iron manifolds. Sorry no pictures that car went down the road in 1970 sure wish I had that today full fendered black Laquer $5500 sad day

Got a lil crazy today made the kick panels. Thought that these would be good to practice on since they'll be under the dash.

Are those 49/50 Merc? If so have you put them up to the car? I think you'll find the curve is off. At least I did when I considered them

Actually, as luck would have it, I once had a 49 Olds and when I got rid of it, I had skirts on it and forgot I didn't have the back caps on so I have two spares.

I would have to redo the panels so the fabric matched on both sides, I suffer just a little with OCD  other than that they look good to me

I was thinking about that too but most of it's going to be covered by the seat

Some before and after. I also found out that the GM rag joint bolts up to the Ford column.

finally got some decent weather today. so I thought this would be a great opportunity to practice measuring twice cut once.

I noticed at the bottom of the door panel it press up against the rocker. I didn't have the clips pushed all the way in, but will this be an issue when I get the padding and vinyl on?
