  1. There is a fellow tri- city rod & custom member that uses a 40 ford hubcap as a top for his breather. HRP

The vehicle this is under is not a Mopar, and its not HAMB friendly, lots of hambers think that the OEM rear this replaced is suitable for use in a hot rod....I think its a POS.;):D truck 006.jpg

1940's Chevy truck lever shock arms as side pipe hangers. Landcruiser spring bushings are used as insulators.
    Perfect fit.

Steering wheel hub was a weld-on sprocket hub for keyed shafting.
I added an exhaust tubing skirt to hide the column/wheel junction and drilled the flat of the hub to match the steering wheel pattern.
2015-06-18 22.41.01.jpg Worked great for its new purpose.

I have a few. On my 32 I wanted to keep the dash looking stock with 3 gauges so I had to find a place for the other two. I found this old heater and the light bulb went on, put the gauges inside. I also had room for a radio unit I can plug my Ipod into and all of my heat and A.C. controls.
On My 26T modified I built my own stainless gas tank but didnt have a tig to weld it up. The guy that welded it worked at a dairy so the filler neck is old stainless milk pipe and the gas cap is a union that we did a bunch of work to.

  6. This is fantastic! this not only gives you a place to mount the extra gauges but a place for the radio & switches and the dash stays simple and clean.HRP

I forgot to mention If a guy looks close at the pictures of my T modified you can just see the exhaust pipe. I made the hanger out of a Geo metro connecting rod.

I had a Y block 292 with a 239 crank and 301 Plymouth pistons. Yes that's a big over bore you have to pick the right block.

Rear trailing arm from a 2001 Kia Sportage. Removed 4-1/2" and used it as a panhard bar on the roadster. Yeah, I cut it a little too short!

  15. Ya. Love that heater box.
Chopped up a 49' Dodge dash to make a centre console in my A. And yes, the clock works. 20160802_162940.jpg 20160107_105516.jpg

How about Peel and Seal Sticky window flashing instead of a Dynamat type product? I bought mine at Lowes and it cost about a quarter of the price of a name brand IMG_0086.jpg

I used a wiper transmission arm from a Freightliner fire engine for rear fender braces on my '40.
I used handicap handrail tubes for exhaust pipes on the Model A thing I'm working on.
If you want to talk vehicle to vehicle, my '40 has parts from at least 15 other vehicles, not counting body parts. Gene.

  21. I used the hub of a bmx bicycle for the duel carb linkage on my o/t vw bug

my low rider blazer was a mishmash of every car Chevy built in the 80’s and early 90’s too many to list ! Lol

The 53 Chrysler I used HVAC cold air return sheet metal covers in thin foam for door panels , rebuilt the fluid drive trans with off the shelf bearings and seals as at that time “ nothing was available !

The 69 Lincoln I owned the rear brakes where junk when I bought it , I found after much searching that 70’s Ford truck brakes where an almost perfect fit !

my Buick had universal hydraulic seals and cereal box gaskets holding the Dyna-leak tranny together !

the 50 fleetline had a camaro rear end and jag front clip with all sorts of home made cross members and shock mounts to make it work .

best part of the hobby is getting creative and making stuff work .

    thinking “ outside “ the box !

  25. 9" Ford in my 41 Willys, not a big surprise,
81 Ford hood prop rod for trunk lid prop rod,
70s road grader inside door handles as door handles,
69 AMC shifter for TH400 trans,
40 Plymouth interior light in Willys,
1&1/2 electrical conduit for steering column tube,
81 Mustang steering wheel in Willys,
91 Dodge Dakota truck bench seat narrowed 4",
    Chev master cylinder,
Toyota 90 degree molded 3/4 " water pump hose used on 396 (made in Canada)
Ford lower alternator arm for Chev upper alternator arm,
basically anything goes in my world if I can make it work.

Took a set of worn out front Suzuki samurai front springs, re-arched them myself old school style with an anvil and 12 lb sledgehammer and built my own quarter elliptical springs for the rear of my 31 tudor.

I have used import hatchback wiper motors on a 58 Willy wagon. They work much better than the cable drive originals. They are not synchronized and ran at different times. I later on learned of using a headlight switch with a two step setting. It may have timed things better.
