I bought this car 3 years ago and took it to Menges Twin Speed shop in Paso Robles for a full build. They chopped 4 inches up front, 8 in the rear, sectioned the rear window 1 inch and opened the front windshield 1 inch. It's got a drop axle with disc brakes and pancakes rear cross member. It has shaved trunk, handles, gas door, antenna and emblems. It has custom made flush skirts and stainless steel running board trim inspired by a lincoln Zephyr. It has a fully rebuilt flathead with polished Evans speed equipment and 2 chrome stromberg 97s with a chrome power Gen. They killed it and were and awesome shop to work with.
After the build I drove it for a while in hotrod flatz color and then took it to El Dorado customs in Paso Robles to have a full color change. They were amazing and knocked it out of the park and now the car is complete.
The car is beautiful. Also, it looks like you had a really clean example to start with, which is always nice.
Another builder who takes great pride in his work. I always admire the workmanship in building a Kustom . The mercury is just one of the cars that cry to be kustom. Thanks for a great story and build.
Purrfection, One of the koolest aspects, you are driving it around. I cant imagine how long it will take for you to drive it without a huge smile the whole time. Sometime it is hard to act kool... Lol!
