Great pictures--thanks so much! If I was there I might been after that 39 Ford Convert for sale!

That green '64 Galaxy used to belong to a good friend of mine (now passed). It was featured in Rod & Custom. I wrote the article for him. Did some sketches for the interior too. Seeing it again makes me remember him and smile.

  3. It's been restored to the gold 1957 version. I heard something about a last minute covid outbreak running through the shop and crew.

I should be careful how I word things, I don't want to come across as an ass. That's why I included the smiley faces, and noted he had paid his entrance fee and probably feels he has a right to get close to the cars and take his photos too. I try to remain patient, sometimes I give up on the shot and move on, there's only so much time in a day. And I may be unknowingly doing the same thing to other photog's, but I try to be aware. It's really just about courtesy. Most people are, they see you lining up a shot and they stop in their tracks and wait for you to snap it. Some people walk into your shot, look right at you, and then stand there. Sometimes not even looking at the car, just standing there and looking around, or looking at their phone. That's when it gets frustrating. Especially when they look right at you, so you know they've seen you. And you stop and wait for them, and they stand there. And stand there.

Never having been there,it sure appears there’s an abundance of what we sometimes refer to as “ power parking “ spots which sure make it possible to get some outstanding photos.
I’m really impressed with how many really nice subtle rides are in attendance..
The 49 stock bodied Mercury and the 51 Buick are just a few examples of the “ less is more”
build style I am attracted to and IMHO stand out in their own way.
I for one really appreciate seeing these types of cars getting some recognition .
    Thanks again Tom.

  8. Thanks for the pictures, top notch as usual!

That gray Connie is amazing. Just about the perfect custom (from that era) for me. Thanks so much for the multiple views. Would never get tired of looking at that.

  16. Thanks Tom for including the coupe in your coverage. It was awesome to talk to you even just for second as you were busy. Will be in touch soon.

Thanks, Tom. Great pictures as usual. Hope to be back there next year. My Grandson & I caught COVID when we attended in 2020, before the guvment would acknowledge it. Thank God, it didn't take long to get over it.

I've been attending the GNRS since the '70s, and always enjoyed the great builds. This year my two favorite cars were Cory's '33 and the beautiful '32 silver/blue roadster. But there were so many incredible builds there were no losers. Thanks to Tom Davison for these shots. DSC_1431.jpg 32 rdstr blue.jpg

You could move to Buckeye... a shorter commute.

Seriously, in your first group posted, the light lavender Riviera, was just stunning. Thank you for taking the time to post all of the great cars.

I actually have lived in Buckeye....or East LA, as I refer to it!

Perfect clone of the Nick Matranga Merc, including hand made trophies in the display that duplicate the awards the original car had won. Built by Eddie Tovar. DSC_1265-Edit.jpg
