Hi Everyone, l guess My Old Jalopy slipped in under the requirements. I have a 62 Plymouth Savoy with a 440 with dual fours and so on. I had to have it inspected by a Government Mechanic so l could get cheap insurance. He told me it drove like a New car. People ask if it's all finished and l reply, "Sort of" My newest Jalopy that I'm working on is à 67 VW Baja which is really a "Jalopy" in my eyes
Thanks, I bought the car 20 plus years ago. It was the shell of a Old race car that someone stuck a Old Hemi in. Very poorly done. The shock towers had been hammered in so the engine would fit. l started with scraping the undercoating off the undercarriage with a torch and scrapper. and between raising 3 Kids and 20 years it's Sort of done. Although I'm thinking about intalling electric steering. It started off as a Budget Project but that's hard to control. At the time money was tight and l bought a 76 Dodge off a guy that just replaced the engine and he couldn't afford to drive it. It's my Mystery engine. It's a 72 block, cast crank, stock pistons so regular gas Nice lumpy cam two 500 cfm Carter competition carbs. I had the trans rebuilt with a performance build, higher stall converter. 4:10 gears with SureGrip The list seems to go forever, but it runs great.
Nice to see you followed Hot Rod Magazine's mantra of many years ago of "Dare to be Different", my first car was a 62 Valiant, first car i wrecked was a 58 Dodge I think you have done a very nice job and I am very jealous of your paint job.
Welcome to the Hamb...nice, clean car. Isn't it great that our cars are really never done? How boring would that be? Keep up the good work. Bob
