Technical 40 Door Handle

    I'm sure this has been discussed a dozen times, but here it goes. I have a 1940 Deluxe coupe, the drivers outer handle stays up and not centered when I open the door. I have to push it down so it looks correct, so there is a 3/4 inch or so of play in the handle. Is there a way to remedy this.

    You Need To remove The Mechanism And See Where The Wear Pattern Is And Check The Stop Point.. s-l640.jpg ..

    I recall that when my 40 Ford DeLuxe door handle was drooping,
    I had to replace the (partially hidden) spring shown in the latch above.
    Vendors still have them.

    I forget if I replaced the other spring but both springs are available.
