Years ago I did business with Weinhard and got to know their Chief Engineer pretty well. Every once in awhile he would call me about 3:30 in the afternoon and say "we've got an emergency breakdown" which was code for "come over and we'll meet the Brewmeister in the Tap Room and sample some of his 'specialty brews' ". He made some GREAT mini brews, in contrast to their production swill.
Their Henty Weinhard Private Reserve was decent.

 

When you’re 7-8 years old that stuff doesn’t phase you. You could always find one or two rollin around in the back of dads truck…

 

those are the best of times. I did get in on some of the private reserve before it was discontinued.

 

Brings back old memories (what I can remember) went to some great concerts at The Forum, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jethro Tull to name a few.
