Thanks for letting me join your group. Just purchased a 29 five window for my first street rod project. Looking for recommendations for a rolling chassis as opposed to modifying the original.
I don't recommend a different chassis if yours is intact. The A chassis is a good foundation and easy to work with. Unless of course you found a deuce chassis that would be cool.
duece rails ? Hemi ? Channeled ? Hot Rod Flatz ? 36 Ford Dash ? Tri Power ? Kaiser tail lights.......oh Spinners....
Thank you. From CT. Non title state. Already registered the car. Numbers will definitely end up on the new frame though. What a job I had registering it. Had no ownership proof for at least the last ten years. Hadn’t been registered in New York since 2007. Buyers of “Barn finds” beware.
Make sure the numbers are obscured on the old frame and engine before you sell it. Hate to get a call from the DMV saying there's another car with your numbers, and they can show the officer the proper stamped frame rails.
alchemy gives you good advice. A buddy of me put his model A coupe on a 1932 Ford chassis after selling his original engine to an engine re-builder. The engine was installed in another person's model A coupe and the restorer used the engine number to get the restored car registered. 2 years later the Mass. Registry contact my buddy and gave him the bad news. It took more than 2 years to get everything straightened out. If you live in Connecticut, PM me for info if needed.
