    Have had Rick deliver a couple cars over the years and always made sure he would stay for a while to get a home cooked meal and lay his head down for some shut eye if need be.

    Always called me when he was rocking down I- 80 through Desmoines and we’d shoot the breeze for a few minutes.

    Very fine, kind, honest guy who I was fortunate to call my friend.

    Rest In Peace Rick ….no more pain my friend.

    Sorry to hear of your friends passing Danny. It’s tough and even tougher around the holidays. I didn’t know the man, but after reading the comments, it’s obvious he was a stand up guy. R.I.P.

    Richard D. "Rick" Powell
    Anderson, SC

    Richard David "Rick" Powell, 66, husband of Lou Anne Brown Powell passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

    Rick was born in Greenville, SC, a son of the late Bruce and Nan Edwards Powell. He attended the Tamassee-Salem D.A.R. School and was a 1973 graduate of Liberty High School. Rick was a lifetime auto enthusiast and for many years owned the Show Time Hot Rods & Customs in Central. He had a passion for 32 Ford Coupes, Vintage race cars and racing. Two of his favorite events to attend were Bonneville Salt Flats and the LA Roadster Show. For the last 15 years Rick transported cars across the nation. During these years he made many lasting friendships that he deeply cherished. Rick was a mason and was a member of Marathon Community Church in Powdersville, SC.

    Surviving in addition to his wife of 12 years are his brother, Keith Powell and his wife, Lisa of Richland, SC; step-son, Randy Lindsay and his wife, Ashlee of Zebulon, GA; a grandson raised in the home, Chayston Martin; grandchildren, Luke Byrum, Colt Lindsay, Paige Lindsay and Anthony Blake; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Tony Seigle of Central.

    In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by a brother, Norris Montgomery; a sister, Pat Reece; and a step-daughter, Carrie Lindsay.

    The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:20 PM, Thursday, December 9, 2021 Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC 29630.

    Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Thursday in the funeral home chapel following the visitation with burial to follow at W.R. Farm, 185 John Holliday Road, Six Mile, SC 29682.

    Condolences to you both Hrp's, the family and friends of Hamber @racinman yes one more shout out to another leaving us to soon...he certainly had a life around go fast and had fun with it...may he rest in peace.
