1st one with CE as a prefix is a counter exchange engine...probably a warranty replacement. Hard to tell what it is..but I think that CE stuff started in the late 60s early 70s..so I'd guess 350. The other one engine assembly plant is faint but looks like an F for Flint...1210..December 10.. HCR is a 1966 327 275 with a Rochester carb. In 1966 they had 4 barrel engines with Holley and Rochester carbs..so at the end of the engine code will be H for Holley or R for Rochester Quadrajet.

I could see the numbers after CE...they just don't mean anything that I know of. Could be a running numerical serial number from the dealer or something.

On the CE engine, what does the crank flange look like? That should give you a positive id, atleast for the cid.

on the short block with the CE code, just stick a ruler in there and measure the bore and stroke...

I am trying to determine if these are the original engine to a car, not just cubic inches. I will go back and get the casting numbers and pic of one crank and to add to the confusion, I will be adding another engine for id. Thanks for all the replies and help!

while you're looking for the casting number, also find the casting date code, it will tell you exactly when the block was cast. That's helpful for figuring out if it's original. The casting date code is usually on the back, perhaps on the opposite side from the casting number, maybe close to it? I don't recall.
