Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by A32Flathead, Aug 20, 2006.

  1. Just logging in via The Jalopy Journal & what do I see??

Ryan has posted some words & pictures about Pebble Beach...by ME!! :D

Just a little update 'live from the show'

Myself & Tim Burns arrived here at ) Dark 30 AM....stumbled into the "Media Tent" for a much needed coffee & proceeded to mingle with the posh types....

    Talk about 'smell the money'

The cars are amazing, I've shot over 150 pics so far...and saw George Lucas, Phil Hill & some guy who does a late night tv chat show....

Well, thats it for now, off to mingle some more....Pictures tonight!!

That is Ken Miles' MG Special, "the Flying Shingle".

Here is a pic of it at Willow Springs in '55.
Chasing Dick Morgensen in his Morgensen Special ( the car that became famous as "Ol' Yeller" later on, when Max Balchowski owned it...)

Penfifteen - That roadster was about a two year old build (it had two LA roadster show plaques on the inner firewall, along with a SoCal decal). It was Brookville steel and what I would call basic - nice, but nothing original jumping out at you. The asking price was $125k.

[IMG]WOW! Not often do you see a Rolls-Royce that looks racy. The gray Michalin tires are a real nice feature.

Thanks... I was wrecking my brain over that one.

And I only sort of remembered it because I read an article once about a guy building a replica...

  28. Thanks Dave....oddly, I was just speaking to a panelbeater mate...I described the car and he picked the name straight away...truly a freak!

Supposedly, (so he says) they were a reasonably "undercooked" car....great ideas, but possibly short on development, so they weren't too reliable.

    I don't care...I'd have it if I could!

  29. Still got a bunch more to edit!! Bear with me.... :D
