Hi I’m looking for dimensions the block and heads of a 392 Hemi , I build models and want to cad draw and print a 392 hemi
To find dimension details that precise you probably would need have an actual motor on hand to reference as you proceed. Other than that you would need actual blue prints from the original Chrysler development of said motor. I am no expert someone else may know of a source for these specs.
@Jasoncamaro This is a 392 drawing. The bore is 4”. knowing that, it is possible to extrapolate the width and height from this drawing. I have a book at home that has diagrams/dimensions, but I am currently a 1000 + miles from home. I will try to remember to look that up and post here after I return home in a few days. Ray
Here are some dimensions I found. Could take some off my block, let me know what you want. Total length and width, height?
I will get some pictures and mark the dimensions I need if you don’t mind . Do you have a bare block ?
What software do you use? Here is a SketchUp model of a 331: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search/?q=chrysler 331 v8 hemi&searchTab=model I can't vouch for the accuracy. It looks much better than a lot of what's on 3dwarehouse, some of which is dire indeed.
I downloaded the abovementioned SketchUp model, and ran a render without editing anything: The shapes have been simplified a lot, doubtless to keep the filesize down, but it's convincing enough on my monitor at ten paces. The fan seems to be a mirror image of what it should be.
