For those that don't know, we covered the recent RPM Nationals event. For those that are not familiar, RPM Nationals is a race that pays homage to the early days of drag racing. When race cars and street cars competed head to head to see who's garage-built hop up was the fastest. The races then started with the drop of a flag and end 1/8 of a mile down the strip. All cars in every class are required to appear as a 1955 or older build style (but with some modern safety features) no modern electronics are allowed in any class bringing back the days of real hands on tuning, not being able to read that plug correctly could cause you the race. All this takes place at the beautiful Santa Margarita Ranch, located between San Luis Obispo and Atascadero in the central coast of California. Along with the racing there’s a car show down by the track, food and drinks, vendor area, and a swap meet area that some amazing vintage parts show up at every year. Below, check out our video! Super, super cool... Quick changes were falling out of trees there. Awesome. Note made to attend next year...
Thank you Nobey!! It was a blast! We brought my 3 month old newborn and he loved it!! Thanks Dave! You gotta come down next year! My girlfriend will be racing there next year. We are too cheap to run a quickchange, so we'll go with the "Redneck Regear"
Looks like an amazing event Ive been following on Instagram. Hoping to run my car at a few west coast events next year and this is on the list.
