    Bearings have same i.d.

    As far as price is concerned, just price every component needed separately and then add the cost of the case.
    Won't be cheap, guaranteed!

    Re: post 145..Didn't Micky Thompson make this or maybe similar? I don't know how far it got but with the gear load in reverse the pinion will try to suck into the ring gear and if it succeeds causes lot of bind do to backlash being zero and less causing breakage.

    Interchange with what? They will not be the same as a V8 quickie because the V8 has a one piece pinion shaft/gear. Only the A/B has the gear separate from the shaft.

    I would think a talented guy could maybe cut and spline a stock Model A driveshaft to use as the upper shaft of a quickchange. But he probably wouldn't be money ahead unless his time was really free.

    Here are some pic's I found on the internet of the Halibrand 101QC pinion shaft, pinion and gear. I've been trying to piece together a 101, Recently I found a complete one and will probably get rid of the other one.

    I'm in possession of a 201 that has been modified to be used with a top loader 4spd less the tailshaft housing and inboard brakes. I'm having trouble finding out about this center section. It's IRS and seems to be a locker but the drive cog on the left side just slides up on the stub axle and does nothing. On the right side there is a spring mounted is the center that provides the slipping action.Something is missing. Anyone have info on this type center section? 20211007_143649.jpg

    It looks like you have a modified Detroit locker. There is usually two springs, and two sets of dog clutches.

    Thanks for the response. The right side has a contained spring as seen. One pic has the yoke for the half shaft. Don't know what kind of spring is supposed to hold the left side. 20211013_152935.jpg 20211013_153351.jpg 20211013_153359.jpg 20211013_152935.jpg

    I agree with Dumprat. That is a Detroit NoSpin insert. It looks to have been modified but I'm not seeing how it is supposed to work. Maybe drive the left axle full time and engage the right one under power?

    I have a complete No-Spin that I cam disassemble and take pics. Will take me a couple of days to get a round tuit. :p

    I thought I had pics in my file but they are not where I thought.

    What spline are the stub axles?
    That is a Champ (301) case isn't it?

    The stub axle has 22 teeth that engage with the locker and has 17 teeth where the hub fits. It's a 201 V8, the right hand side has an internal spring that keeps it engaged but something is missing on the left, locking ring just slides in and out.

    That little spring should fin onto the stub axle snout. It should probably have shims behind it to keep it locked on one side of the dog clutch.
    The other side should also have a dog clutch that has a large coil spring behind it. This one usually slide on splines on the side gear, which is on the axle splines.

    Yours looks like it was designed to only unlock when turning one direction.

    A capable machinist with some good tools could make that all work correctly again, it likely won't be cheap though.

    I've searched but I can find any pictures represention what all the parts look like. As said the right side works correctly but the left side doesn't pull at all. Pic with the body removed. 20211002_164235.jpg 20210925_191140.jpg

    Thanx for posting that @dumprat. I was going to pull one apart but your pic is better than I would have been able to do.

    @Jimmy Campbell
    Are you trying to fit a Halibrand V8 center or something else?

    @303racer,
    Check your 'Conversations'

    Jimmy Campbell,
    If you had duplicate parts for the other side, would it fit in that carrier? I'm thinking that you will have to find out what the locker was originally for. The 22 spline side gear and stub shaft is probably a clue. The piece with the drive lugs is called the 'Spider Assembly'. The dimensions across the pins and their diameters will be critical in finding compatible parts.

    I have never seen or heard of a No Spin Insert for the Ford V8 differential.

    The attached scan might be of some help.

    I would start by going directly to Eaton.
