It's Ok if you like it ?and it drives well. Cool looking 28 in your pic. IFS can hide under full fenders,an not stick out . But if your open wheel, well it's just there,an looks too many ;like some one didn't know how too work with straight axle front./And likely dose not know a lot about IFS ether. If it were mine,I'd replace the IFS front end { Mustang 2),with a Ford straight axle type front. Ford designed n built a good one, even in 28 to 31. Up dated brakes, to hydraulic drum or disk is needed. Understanding of how front ends work,is often a hole that needs filling. If your not having any prob's driving, just drive an enjoy. But if it is acting up, fix. Just being 30 years old, dose not make IFS it-self cool. It comes down too=Do you want to adjust what you have or redo it better. In the end,hot rodding should be fun for you.
Is that stain on the passenger seat from Jay when you slid of the road in the snow on that Hop Up run?
No. The sliding wasn't scary. The gaining speed in reverse back downhill to get enuf momentum to jump outta the ditch was. No. It's a Salon, not a Saloon. It was late in life when I entered my first Salon. Much earlier, and still, I frequent Saloons.
I'm not at all amazed I misseed some words,I'm wikky blinky from eye op. for cartoracts end of last week ,n new lezs. Taking some getting use too. I hate eye drops. Have Fun !
My wife goes to salons to get all prettied up. I go to saloons to get all fucked up. Money well spent in both cases.
Those seats don't look out of place in that car. It's hard enough to find a pair of buckets that are comfortable, don't look out of place and actually fit in a Model A to begin with. I remember years ago when a buddy went to the wrecking yard, bought a pair of nice looking buckets an hauled them home and stuck them in his A and couldn't close the doors and had to go back and grovel a bit to be able to trade them for some that were narrower.
Remember it's a 29 Mercury, they're typically a little sleeker or slimmer than a same vintage Ford allowing for better selection of aftermarket seats. Huh Stan?
Dave, you're partially right. For one thing, it's a 28, not a 29. And if you look carefully, the body widens out from what the dimensions of a 28 Ford would be to give the passengers more interior room than a Ford 2-door (or tudor -- how fucking silly). Plus, if you check my avatar, there's an air conditioning vent on the driver's side for more comfortable motoring, something Ford didn't offer on its 2-door (salon) models. All this, along with a factory high-mounted tachometer and wood-grain window revels and a first in its class, a 231-inch V-6 motor, makes it puzzling that more weren't built.
... looks like you made your passenger wet themselves- must be a fast ride... or your brakes/suspension suck
Now Stan, I was trying to protect the dignity of the salon/saloon by not giving away all of the details or those super rare factory options. Drag it out to Mentone Beach Sat, your cruller is on me.
