it isn't a stocker, just an unchanneled car now, I mis spoke calling it a stocker. you have to scroll to the bottom of the other thread.
I seem to recall early 60s magazines (thus probably 50s mags too) making a big deal about 1/4 mile mph. Like the car with the highest mph had the greater potential to win.
Yes that pic didn't show up due to my user settings. It's funny, I almost said something earlier about someone pulling out the hot overhead motor to put a flathead back in it... from "hot rod" to "warm rod." These are all merely observations. Hot rods go through progressions as we all know. Can't wait to see it with center lines and splash graphics next!
If that's the movie where the girl has a 55 T-Bird, I remember her shutting the car door and it sounds just like my car. Not a real "quality" sound.
Not quite Hot Rod Girl, but close. Picked it up this summer at a garage sale for a couple bucks. It was a movie from 1958.
Speaking of movies, this was just on. Guess the car. Guess the movie. Guess who's driving. No cheating..
What gave it away, at 6'6" looking over the windshield of a Nash Healey? Odd matchup. The movie is Walk The Dark Street, couple years before The Rifleman. Lousy movie, unless you really like film noir, it's free on Youtube.
