What combination of water pumps ,pulleys , generator and fan give you the shortest length 8BA . Trying to not modify firewall or move radiator ahead .
the shortest way is to get rid of that "girlie" distributor and put the crab and shorter water pumps all associated with a 59 series block.
I used 52 F1 water pumps, 12 volt generator with a 37 pulley and fan, had the front pulley machined off the crank pulley. Still running the stock distributor and a single fan belt. Has early heads but is an 8RT out of a 52 F3. Had to put a small notch in the firewall to clear the fuel pump
Somewhere here is a thread by the late, great Bruce Lancaster, I believe it may be called "flathead dimensions" or something similar, he states you gain an inch ana half by switching to the old style front set up. To use that dizzy all the pulleys and belts are further forward so the belts clear the dizzy.
