I have a pair of front buckets from a 66 t-bird. I got a wild hair today took the seat out flipped it on its back and hooked it up to the battery charger low and behold the damn thing works even the broken toggle switch. The only thing is that the lead screw turns but nothing moves up down back or fourth. IMG_20210710_174619461_HDR.jpg

Because whatever the lead screw is supposed to move, has striped threads

I believe on those seats their is a bar with a nut welded on both sides the screw goes through and moves the seat back and forth. Now I’m going by memory and I ain’t young anymore

Hook it to a battery, the charger might be low amps.

At least on my 55 (and I think on my 59 bird, but that was 50 years ago) the jack screw attaches to the floor pan. It’s not self contained on the seat frame. Without that attachment it will turn, but nothing moves. Well, the end of it moves, but if it’s not anchored the seat stays where it is. Difficult to state clearly.

I think I understand what you're saying. I'll bolt it back in place and see what happens

Bolted the seat back in didn't seem to help much. I'm hoping this isn't anything to important I found it on the floor under the seat IMG_20210926_101627216.jpg
