I have grown really fond of Dupli Color's engine enamel. Once you learn to not spray it on heavy for the first 2 coats, it works well, looks good and dries FAST. I really like that last fact, as I always seem to get impatient in waiting for other spray paints to dry.

The cast aluminum (DE1615) and the satin black (DE1635) have worked really well for me.

What spray can paints do you recommend?

I've used Rustoleum spray paints for over 40-years and have had excellent results.

Ditto on the Rustoleum. I like it the best. I also use the cheaper tractor paints from Princess Auto or Tremclad, "stroking on the sunshine...right over the rust". If it's something I am being real particular with I mix my own.
I do have a few cans of the Dupli Color engine enamel but haven't used it yet.

I used to use the Napa house brand Martin Senior (sp?) when I had easy access to a Napa store. Haven't bought enough spray paint in the past few years to write home about. I did use Duplicolor primer and spray paint to paint a fender on my ot daily and I was really happy with it.

Ditto Ahshoe above...dries in about 10 minutes to touch most times. Always wondered why someone
hasn't come up with a paint that dries hard in 3 minutes or less for us hot rodders that are working
on getting something put together quickly at times. If 10 minutes is good, how many less minutes
    are better...?

  8. I'd like to know what the taggers/graffiti artists use. That shit is everywhere, doesn't run, and lasts forever!

I had a chrome fuel pump, trying not to use too much chrome. Mask it up and lightly glass beaded, I cleaned it good, remasked and sprayed with the above mentioned Rustoleum, came out great!! Paint hangs on real well! Used on my choke brackets on my carb too!

I hate all rattle can, every time I use it is a disappointment, and the thought I shoulda mixed some paint and shot it thru a gun.

I stopped buying rustoleum rattle can all together, the quarts are decent with acetone and enamel hardener. Flows out nice with brush or from a gun

The author should be more specific in his question on spray paint. Is he talking rattle cans, if so I like Rustoleum for general household use, for car parts Eastwood. Body parts, PPG sprayed with a gun, but Eastwood also sells some good paint for body panels.

I mean, they all get me pretty high so I really don't have a preference. o_O

  23. Your splitting hairs my friend, the definition of spray paint is any paint that comes in a sealed, pressurized container and is released in an aerosol spray when a valve button is pressed.

This is my favorite spray paint. :D HRP

I use whatever I find in the color I want. Walmart brand, Krylon, Rustoleum, whichever is cheapest and the right color. All about the same to me. Only time I buy the higher priced stuff is when I want something different, like a hammertone or crinkle finish.

    Been using Krylon.
Getting close to painting young Zander's mini bike after doing all the upgrades. Got some Spray Max 2K clear in cans I'm gonna use over the Krylon for shine and durability.
