Technical back taping door jams

    Going to repaint my C2 Vette, black again, pretty soon. Don't need to do the door jams. Any special procedures or products to use, other than just stuffing tape in there?
     
  2. 3 M make a soft sponge type rope for just that purpose # 06297

    Thanks, I was thinking about something like that. Probably about 10 bucks a foot..;)
     
  4. Not quite, but you have to buy like 100 feet? at a time. It does work great though...

    Check what your hardware man sells to insulate water pipe. Many sizes reasonable

    The old school way was to take 3/4" masking tape, fold about 1/6" on itself, (sticky side to sticky side). And tape off the area with that folded edge toward where you are spraying. It will not leave a hard edge.
