I like those. How much clearance to roof when you set in seat

I haven’t put them in since I installed the new foam and covers. But they are very low to the floor. My roof has a 6 inch chop, no channel and I’m 6’7 so I’m hoping for the best.
I have not seen any seats that are lower than these.

This is, I think, a mini-van seat.....not a Caravan though. Not on the floor - 3 in. in front and 2 in. in back. I'm 5' 11" and car has a 4" chop. Not a lot of extra head space but no bumps to the noggin.;)

Not an answer for you, but just for humor, we have to remember how narrow these old cars are. For example, in my 34 coupe I have temporarily installed a pair of low back mid 60's VW buckets while I wait to install the original seat. An improvement over the wood box I sat on at first! The VW seats touch the doors, and touch each other in the middle. In the bug, they still had room for the parking brake lever between the seats !

Was at a swap meet some years back and ran across this seat frame and the ten dollar price tag was worth lugging it back home. I had to cut it and pull the spot welds apart on the bottom to shorten the height and length and weld it back together so it would fit. The guy I bought it from told me he thought it was from an old Chevy truck but as I was dismantling it every piece of it was stamped FORD. DSC00808.JPG

Dino 64 would need to answer that question. I think it’s a 31.

Don’t think he was referring to me but, it’s a 31. 30 and 31 were the same size, 28,29 different than the later two years.

I got these out of a wrecked ‘68 Z28 back about 1970. Just about perfect width. A little harder to come by these days : 87AF4EF4-4AC1-4E6F-98F4-D1BC66C79610.jpeg 4BCE8EB2-4F92-44DA-88CB-43DAB11AC47A.jpeg

Dang, I got to get the tape out now! I’m about to start pulling some parts of a ‘97 has the same looking seats in it. Never occurred to me that they’d slip in the cab of my trucks. Ive been in yhe “Caravan 3rd seat” rabbit hole for a year and that ‘97 has been in the back for 3 years!

I installed boat seats from Cabela's temporarily but they seem to be becoming permanent. About 40 bucks a piece and there are lots of colors to choose from.

I agree. I’ve looked for some like them and can’t find any local.

  30. LOL that is what I was gonna say ^^^^

2.5" is not much of a whack on an A. Seats from an older sports car work well, or some guys who are really tall sit on the floor. Boat seats work well too (think bass boat here). Lots of guys use school bus seats as well.
