Jim, I really like that Yenter Corvette a lot but it’s hard to find good pictures of it.

The "Lawson & Fout" FEVER was one of the cars I immediately dug when I
started going to Oswego in '68. I never knew where they were based though.
I've wondered if Joliet funny car driver John Lawson was tied to this car in
some way, maybe it belonged to a family member. I'm not familiar with the
names Trybula and O'Brian. The photo with the young lad is one I took with
my little Instamatic, the other I found online.

Trybula and O’Brian ran a Corvette funny car under the same name in later years with Ed O’Brian driving. Looks like I erroneously thought they had run the C2 Corvette also.
John Lawson drove for Dale Creasy Sr. at some NHRA national events and today runs a match race funny called Runaway, John has a body shop in Joliet. No prior connection to the Fever Corvette, I’d guess he’s in his 50’s or maybe early ‘60’s.

You just answered my question about John Lawson. I know where his body
shop is on the east side of Joliet. I stopped in once and believe I spoke to his
nephew about the '66 (I refuse to use the "C" designations). He said he was
sure John had nothing to do with it. I was familiar with Creasy's car when
Gary Bolger was the driver, then Creasy junior took over the driving chores
and they picked up a partial sponsorship from Sears or Craftsman. I wish I
could post a pic of Creasy's '71-'73 TYRANT Mustang. And I'm getting away
    from Corvettes here.

Quick using the "C" designation is most annoying to me also, falls right in there with "Gasser" and "IMHO".

To illustrate how times have changed my friend bought one of these brand new in 67 at the age of 18 because the girl he was dating wanted a guy that had a corvette, long story short she broke up with him and he crashed the car then three months before I got drafted he got drafted. My point is a HS kid with a gas station job could buy a corvette, at least on LI. It was also a green roadster427/435HP version, 4speed.

    In October '71 I was 21 and purchased a '63 327/340 roadster for $1200. I posted pics
of it here. Sold it for $1250 and thought it kool that I made a profit. In October '74 I
purchased my '69 350/350 roadster with 36,000 miles on the clock for $3500. That
car listed for $5500. Yes, they were affordable. I truly believe that what stopped
many from buying a Corvette was the thought of insurance payments. That's what
stopped me from buying a new '73 instead of the El Camino SS I eventually settled
on. I didn't check on insurance, I just assumed I was going to get nailed. That '69
was the most enjoyable "street machine" I've ever owned. Drop the top, slip in into
first gear and I was ready to "save the wave" all day long.

Sorry about the quality of the photos. They're bad scans of good pics.
Shot at Great Lakes Dragaway in 1994.

In 1964 I was a year out of high school. My Dad helped me get a job at Westinghouse Air Brake, Wilmerding, PA. In 3 months I was making serious money as a machine operator (centerless grinder).I bought a new Corvette coupe. That's what a high school education was worth back then.

Obviously, this is no reflection on you, LB, but I've really grown to dislike these cars.

You know, I have to agree. I liked them as a race car, but now when I see one, I think " no".

Love those "that are all stock and original", of course I do. Yes, though, LB,
keep posting them, I've got an open mind. And, funny, none of these look alike...
