A good pair of 12" calipers should get you very close.... I have the Mititoyo calipers... Very accurate!...
The ones for my 426 are two lengths as well,,,,,,it all goes back to the rocker layout . The intake rockers rotate inboard,,,to push the valve down . The exhaust rotate outboard to push the valve . Since the exhaust rocker is almost twice as long ,,,,it requires a different angle of attack from the pushrod,,,,,so length is quite a bit different . Tommy
I apologize for the quick and misleading response last night. That’s what I get for trying to do one more thing before I go in for the night, I should know better. Every response after mine is accurate. The exhaust and intake pushrods are different lengths. And much more accurate measurements are needed to complete the build of a high end motor. Maybe I misread or misinterpreted your question but I took as a generic question. As in; I have these pushrods laying here but I don’t know if they are Desoto, Dodge, or are poly motor pushrods, about what length am I looking for. Or I’m headed to a swap meet but… Never would I assume someone would build the engine using the same tools as to frame their house. The pushrod pictured is an exhaust. Taken from a 1956, S-23, 330ci motor, if you had seen the rest of the motor you would be as confident as I that it had the original pushrods. It may have even had the original oil. If you want a rough measurement for the intake I can get you that this evening. If you are looking for a good set of stock pushrods, I suggest watching the Hot Heads Swap Meet site. As mentioned by many of the previous post, most people that put thousand’s into their build go with adjustable pushrods. That leaves a lot of stock sets being sold for around $20-$30 a set. Rick
