Sold my '34 3 window 2 years ago & needed something to fill the void. Found this '34 Vic in country Victoria about 12 hours from where I live. Plans were for another Rocket powered rod but changed direction when I found good flathead running gear. I will let the pictures tell the story.
I like the cleverly spaced zip ties and the phantom stripes on the aft upper Quarters...Chopping it Dago?...look forward to the talking pictures...
I think the body laid on it's side for a lot of it's final life in the US, so there was a lot of rust issues. Camden County Customs fabricated a new roof section & trunk lid, & also fitted a right rear quarter panel.
The running gear is almost done, '34 motor with a '48 column shift g/box , '40 brakes all round, 4inch dropped axle, with a 3 channel on the front cross member, hair pins, & a '35 rear end adapted to a '34 closed drive shaft.
When I purchased the car it came with fiberglass guards & running boards, I was very fortunate to buy a job lot of '34 parts, which included a set of Aussie sedan rear guards which to my surprise fitted the Vicky perfectly .
Had to be tough to sell your old 3 window..it really had "the look". I like your current project, guards (fenders) will be a good look for the no chop Vic.
Yes @40FORDPU , it was a tuff call but the guy kept offering money & it was to good to pass up. Although I am not in this great hobby for financial gain, but I was able to replace my glass coupe for a steel Vicky which are very rare in Australia.
Body has been media blasted, very happy with the out come. Some massaging needed, but not bad considering the age.
Hi your 34 had a perfect stance. I had a Cad powered Vicky40 years ago. Looking forward following your build.
38 and 39 is a very nice but underated hope you have all the parts to complete getting difficult to find
Got a bit more done during lockdown, '38 Dash panel installed & column shift working nicely. And yes the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
Appears the steering wheel IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE now. But in the colonies, we prefer to locate them on THE CORRECT side. 3 window was sure cool, but the Vicky is the top of the line!
