Today Stewart would've been 63 years old. His daughter and I miss him terribly, and have worked to come up with a way to honor his memory. We are organizing a Cruise / Bull Run / Fundraiser to celebrate his life and amazing spirit. This seems like an appropriate day to post the t- shirt for the upcoming Limey Kid Cruise. T- shirts will go on sale soon! This will serve as a fundraiser for a grant that is being started in Stewart's name through GIST Support International. The grant will enable an individual to seek a second opinion from a GIST specialist, in the hopes that their life will be extended. We recognize that not everyone has the means to travel, as we did, to see specialists at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Due to the rarity of this type of cancer, having access to GIST specialists can make a significant difference in the outcome. Had we followed the proposed treatment plans from the less experienced Michigan oncologists (Karmanos, U-M) we would not have had the years with Stewart that we got. Access to exceptional, top notch care makes the difference. Hannah and I felt this grant would be the best way to honor Stewart's life and his well fought battle. The t shirt was designed by artist, Jacqui Davies from the UK. She has a great talent for capturing the authentic hot rod vibe. Jacqui has designed many t shirts and posters depicting vintage hot rods. She also has an amazing eye for all things mid century. She is truly talented lady! **T shirts are challenging to buy in bulk currently. Lots of shortages! We wanted a nice t shirt that people will reach for over and over. I think I've located a brand that has a full range / supply of sizes- finally! Just need to firm up the turn around, pricing and post sizing measurements. For anyone interested in purchasing, I will post more details in a week or so. Fuck the cancer!
