I'm looking for good info and who sells conversion kits for my 57 ranchero. I'm not finding anything old posts or new. Thanks
Wilwood offers 2 basic kits for your stock spindles. They offer a dual M/C kit with a prop valve. You can call them for which one depending on whether you want power assist or not. They told me the numbers + a residual valve, a Mustang adjustable rod, and told me to order it from Summit for the best price. They are 4 piston instead of your typical 2 piston/floater style. Needed 2 short 3/16” lines to the stock tees. I choose non power for my 56 and could not be happier. Did it in one day; my wife was on the peddle for bleeding. Granada spindles will lower your car approximately 2”. Mine was already ready 2” down and I didn’t want anymore.
Is Scarebird still in Business? They had a kit that would use your original spindles with easy to find calipers and pads.
Their web site is still up, with the usual COVID delay warnings. https://www.scarebird.com/ They moved a while back and were behind for a while. But worth a call. On the other hand, Jimmy Six got an fully designed system, not brackets to piece something together. I’ve not used scarebird, but I’ve had those “it all fits” systems. Doesn’t mean they work well.
