Camshaft PS296S Bought it used, Ive googled several times over the years & come up blank. Its a Big Block Chevy item, & solid lifter. It's in a low compression 454 currently and guessing at lash. Currently has gone best of 12.50. pro street cam.JPG
In a 325hp 396 it went 12.os in 3200 lb car back in the last 1980s. If one looks carefully, the words PRO STREET can be seen etched on the end.
Some have guessed that it is a Federal Mogul, or Cam Shaft Machine, or Wolverene, but no verification. Its probably in some forgotten paper catalogue, that was never scanned/ entered into a db. Thanks g²

Is this solid or hydraulic lifter?

Im guessing PS296S would be 296 duration S = solid lifter. Looking at other 296 BB chevy solid lift cams the lift is in .600 to. 630 range.

Just a nudge in the right direction until better info is available.

Its a solid lifter, as I had to buy 1 New lifter as the original owner lost/ damaged one. He did identify what went where, in a box the lifters originally came in, That box is long gone as this cam was removed and the 396 went to a new owner in 1990.
With that said the cam was new in the 1980s I got it about 1985 or so.

Didn't Crower have a "Pro Street" cam?
Probably not the only ones, it was the catch phrase of the times..

Not listed in a 1979 Crower catalog.
