    Hi

Thinking about switching wheels on my 1933 Ford to 52 Hot Rod Wire Wheels powder coated Red with 1933 Ford hubcaps and trim rings. Can I get any suggestions on this set up or should I keep wheels as is. Any input greatly appreciated. Thinking of going with 15 x 5 front and 15 x 8 in rear. Not sure of backspacing. Thanks, Wes Teixeira, US Army Retired. Currently living in Las Vegas.

No opinion on the wheels but those are really nice flames.

I may have just insulted your mother or thanked you for your service, I intended on the latter.
I wouldn't change the wheels, looks great the way it is! Spend the money you saved on golf balls and spam sandwiches.

    Thanks Ned

  5. Keep the flames, keep the wheels.
Get rid of the flames, then the wires would be okay.

I think a Hot Rod should have Halibrand or 5 spoke, although I think grey spokes look tougher. Drop that side view over on the photoshop page and see if you like it better with wires.

The above comments ,leave it as is, or no flames and wires mirror my thought exactly. Flames and wires just don't work together, in my mind anyway. Change for the sake of change ???

Looks good with flames and AR wheels.
Looks older, if You sandblast spokes and paint those semi gloss grey (cast iron colour).

    Beautyful simple Rod !

Ok before some of you get your undies in a knot you can't untie. I dug out my secret decoder ring and came up with Hot Rod 52 Wire Wheels For Sale | Wire Spoke Rims | Truespoke Wheels
Meaning the wheel he is asking about is a Truespoke #52 bare steel wheel that he wants to powder coat.
Being that they are Truespokes I don't think bolt pattern is an issue. Nor is fitting to his drums/rotors or back spacing

5thsatenova, if that is what you think you want, head on go for it. My best bud who passed away a couple of years ago ran True spokes on every rig he owned cool car wise and outside of one set rusting I never heard him fuss about them.

  17. Welp, when I first got my 34 on the street I picked up a set of 55 Chrysler wires, painted. They were 5 inches wide and the rears were widened to 7.5 inches. I had them powder coated and ran them for 2 years or so. All the time I really wanted to run old American Torque thrust wheels so I made the change. Glad I did. 34falleaves10_18.jpg 34nighttime11_20.jpg

  19. I have 15" X 4.5" bolt pattern Chrysler wheels.
I made an adapter and tac welded it to rim for hub cap.

That car looks bitchin both ways, but I kinda favor the wire's, it's just a great look.

Question about wire wheels, including the True Spokes, do you have to run a tube with those wheels?

  21. Tube , yes

  22. I didn't run tubes. I had the wheels sand blasted and powder coated. Then I ran a wide bead of quality silicone sealer around the center of the wheel where the spokes attached to the rim. Never had a problem with leaks.
