Hard to beat a well done 3 window.

 

Unfair advantage goes to that 3 Window...that rear-end shot would make any hot rodder weak in the knees.

 

Is that a Cleveland block with Windsor heads in the grey Model A coupe?
Some very outstanding examples in that group, any one of them could be HRY.

 

That blue one wins in the looks part.
Something looks odd on the 5w chop. Could be the angle.

Very hard to tell , the story here by the images . It for sure is not a Windsor block . Header flanges look different than a normal Windsor head to me also . I just think there is more here than a Cleveland style block with Windsor heads . This would be one I’d love to know more about . Thanks for all the images , really a tough call to determine the best , it’s only an opinion I suppose .

I can't be sure but it looks like an LS that's been converted to look like a SBF. I think I see some type of spacer/adapter in the front to add a distributor drive. The ends of the heads are not SBF.

Thanks for the link. That’s some amazing craftsmanship.
The LS issue only applies to forum rules. As a power plant outside the realm of this place, its an excellent choice and wouldn’t affect my vote unless the rules of the judging specify vintage engines. For a competition that uses an actual display of performance as the criteria, the LS is almost an unfair advantage over older engines.
My only critique of the car is the grill shell placement. Stock location Model A firewalls push the grill shell forward a lot. Kinda messes up the overall proportions.

 

I looked quickly at the A and thought Ford in a Ford but an LS? WTH? Why go through all that? I don't mind the LS motor itself, HAMB implications aside, but I just don't understand doing that conversion and the Ford valve covers and all?

 

It looks like the roadster would be my pick. In my expert (insert laughter here) opinion...

The Sedan is too plain...needs '37 hubcaps
The 5 window looks a little too "street roddy"
Foot long pitman on the 3 window bothers me
As mentioned, Model A is out of proportion.

 

The roadster checks all the boxes for me. HRP

A deuce sedan, a deuce roadster, a deuce 3 window, a deuce 5 window, and one "out of the box thinker" with a model A. All nice cars. Close your eyes and point, because they are really all the same car. How boring is hotrodding getting?

 

I agree.
They are very well built but an overall yawn fest unless a 32 is some kind of idol for ya.
maybe one of us should step up an build something else.

On a side note.
Most have a traditional look. The model A does unless you know better.
We complain when these contestants look too modern and when they all look too traditional or “cookie cutter”.
I just think that’s kinda funny
