There was a long thread on this that started years ago and got back up a few months back. Some searching might get some info.
I used one for a few years 73-77 . I wish I still had it . The secret is in the secondary timing opening. Experiment with springs and secondary jets or metering plates, depending on model . Mine was relatively easy , a 1400 lb car , 350 lt-1 , turbo 400 it did vary when timing was off and vacuum was normal so I always had a large vacuum gauge on the firewall . Gary
I looked on Youtube, they talked about the newer version not the vacuum secondaries 3160 that I have.If you saw anything else please let me know.
http://members.tccoa.com/392bird/tuning.htm Check it out, has some good basic stuff on Holley style carb tuning, it can get a little involved. I think it's sort of like painting. 90% prep, 10% actual paint.
I heard there were some modifications need to be done to the power valve restrictors and possibly the accelerator pump Sent from my SM-J737T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I've rebuilt the number of Holly's I heard they were something specific to this model 950 3 Barrel Sent from my SM-J737T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Depends how picky you are. See link provided above. If you really want to see what's going on instead of guessing a wide band O2 sensor is pretty slick. They aren't that expensive.
