Hi all, does anyone know if an aftermarket inlet manifold, such as offenhauser from a 390 Caddy will fit a 64 Caddy 429 motor? or if it can be modified? thanks, just having trouble finding anything listed for a 429....

Hollanders says the stock intake is the same from 63-65. That covers both engine sizes. And the 390 and 429 use the same intake gaskets. The distributor moved up front on the 429, but it doesn't seem to have changed the intake manifold...unless there's something I'm missing...if it's a multi carb intake, it might be in the way?

offy catalog says their intake fits up to 63.

Looking at the Offy manifold which fits 49-62 , although if people have used others I would be interested to know

In 63 the distributor was moved to the front of the engine, so the intake are more than likely different. The exhaust manifolds are about the only thing that stayed the same, I believe.

  8. Off the top of my head, I think I remember that there were two different 390s.
    You'd need the later one.

  9. 62ish up to 67 is a different engine

  11. Intakes are wider , you can physically fit a 49 to 62 6 X 2 intake by using longer plenum hoses , so very limited choices unfortunately :(
